Glenn Herman

Glenn Herman is currently the co-founder/chief executive officer and a board member of Five Point Networks, Inc. He is an online pioneer who got his start as an E-Business executive before the birth of the World Wide Web. Over the past 15 years he has served as a senior executive overseeing interactive entertainment, computer integration and program management projects at IBM, Cox Communications, Prodigy Services and the City University of New York. During that time, he led large delivery organizations through the total lifecycle process of implementing several hundred web portals, E-Commerce sites and rich media hubs.

At IBM, Mr. Herman successfully led numerous projects with budgets between $100 million and $1 billion to completion and in the process became one of the youngest Senior Managers in the company’s history. He also directly managed teams of hundreds of full-time employees, contractors, vendors and subject matter experts, from initial kickoff to customer acceptance, including the award-winning US Mint project. There, Mr. Herman defined, built and implemented a complete redesign of the US Mint’s entire IT infrastructure - the final system supported procurement of raw metals, manufacturing and delivery of minted coins, as well as the sale and shipping of hundreds of millions of dollars of proof sets and other collectibles directly to the end consumer through a new telephone sales unit and an enterprise website that was custom built for high volume secure sales.

In the early 1990s, while a Senior Manager at Prodigy Communications, Mr. Herman was the original visionary and implementer of several interactive firsts, including: an integrated shopping mall; online celebrity chat sessions; the online celebrity tour diaries; and a “communities of interest” bulletin board system in 1995. A year later, he monetized community specific content by combining the bulletin board community with the online shopping mall. Mr. Herman also was one of the first to use a combination of wireless LANs and Real Audio streaming servers to present the entire Free Tibet Concert to the world from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park in the summer of 1996.

Mr. Herman’s early adoption of the combined content and e-commerce model eventually led him to create an innovative E-Commerce solution for Cox Communications that supported multiple E-Commerce programs simultaneously on web portals in 26 cities.

Mr. Herman is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Hunter College of New York, with a B.A. in Communications/Film/Media Studies.
